How Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery And Prax Foundation Roots Are Supporting Grimsby’s Young People With Onside’s Horizon Youth Zone

Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery, a cornerstone of Northern Lincolnshire’s industrial landscape, is not only a leader in energy production but also a pillar of community support to the region.  In conjunction with Prax Foundation Roots, the refinery has cemented its commitment to the local region with the early support and proud Cornerstone Patron status of Onside’s Horizon Youth Zone in Grimsby. This partnership underscores the refinery’s dedication to fostering positive change and providing opportunities for young people in the region.

Horizon Youth Zone is a transformative project for Grimsby, aimed at providing young people with a safe, inspiring place to spend their time. Located in the heart of Grimsby town centre, the Youth Zone will offer over 20 activities every night for a nominal fee, ensuring accessibility for all once open in Autumn 2025.

In the early stages of the Youth Zone’s development, Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery and Prax Foundation Roots worked closely with the Young Person Development Group.  This collaboration was instrumental in securing our support, with the group pitching to the Prax Group’s co-founders to secure our support and investment.  The strong relationship between the refinery and the Young Person Development Group continues to flourish, with the group expressing pride in having the support and partnership of Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery and Prax Foundation Roots. This ongoing collaboration highlights the refinery’s commitment to empowering young people and fostering a supportive community environment, alongside their existing community and social value initiatives.

The collaboration between Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery, Prax Foundation Roots, and the Onside Horizon Youth Zone Team demonstrates a shared vision for a brighter future.  As a Cornerstone Patron, we provided that much needed crucial early support to the Youth Zone, helping to secure the costs of the early development and initial opening years.  This partnership not only enhances the refinery’s legacy of community engagement, but also ensures that Grimsby’s young people have the resources and support they need to thrive.

By making such a significant financial investment in Grimsby, we are helping to build a stronger, more vibrant future for the region.  We are looking forward to seeing Horizon open later this year!
