Prax Exploration & Production

Prax Exploration & Production

Our full integration across the oil value chain creates unique opportunities for synergies between our upstream endeavours and our downstream assets, to build a solid and transformative supply chain.

Prax Upstream was set up to integrate and complement the other businesses of the Group.

We acquired Hurricane Energy as a first step in our development as we value the Lancaster field and its team of specialists with experience across the disciplines of geology, engineering and offshore operations.

The Lancaster Field is located in blocks 205/21a, 205/22a and 205/26b, licence P1368 Central. Prax acquired a 100% interest in the Lancaster field in 2023.

The Lancaster Field was discovered by Hurricane in 2009. It is the first basement reservoir development on the UK Continental Shelf, and sits in relatively shallow water of around 160 metres. The first phase of the development, the Early Production System (EPS), came on stream in June 2019.

Safety is the cornerstone of our operational excellence. Health, Safety and Environmental practices are continuously reviewed and upgraded across all our operations, and we work closely with the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Environment Agency (EA), and the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA).
